Hey guys! I've been wondering something for a very long time now but can't seem to find an answer. I was thinking that since we're playing manual the game should let us control everything on our own, although we all know it doesn't. But I can't stop wondering what difference the players technical attributes make when you're playing manual. Of course I know that physical attributes and some technical, as shot power, doesn't change but how much of an effect does it have if one player has 90+ short passing and a player has less than 50 short passing. Since it's manual there shouldn't be any difference but I believe there still is. Long shots and crossing are other stats that go by this example aswell.
Does anyone actually have a proper answer on this? How much of an impact do these attributes actually have on a manual controlled player?

I think shot power does change as some players can shoot the ball with more power and the ball will stay down.Like also free kick power varies.Of course it's how you being a manual player adjusts and controls the player. Obviously pace and strength are the two obvious things that stick out.

But what is the difference of making a short low-pass with Xavi that has 96 short passing and some other guy that has 65 short passing when playing manual? Does it even matter what their technical attributes are since we should controls everything by ourselves?

Most men can pass a ball six yards.

I think you're missing the point, mate. Maybe passing was a bad example.
I'll try again, this time with long shots. Here are two players with a notable difference in the technical attribute "Long shots".
Paul Pogba - Long shots: 88 Ramires - Long shots: 66
Long shots determine how good a player is at performing long shots and hit their target with them. Now consider that we are playing manual and we try a long shot with both these players under exactly the same circumstances with the exact same movement and button pressing.
Will Pogbas shot be better than Ramires shot considering that his value is higher on "Long shots" or will the shots be equally good because we play manual and should be in control of the shots?
We're not counting "Shot power" now, just the technical aspect of this scenario.

Well I think they must build in a shot accuracy ratio or something. I don't think manual is as manual as we think. I can really tell shooting long shots with different players. I was playing co op today and took a shot with tevez and I couldn't believe the power and how it kept low.Not used to using players like tevez as I don't usually play with the big teams.. With short passes it must be very slight. Wonder if someone in ea could help us?

I've been wondering this for such a long time, I don't know who to turn to on EA. I think this is important to know actually.

with good stats much less conditions(time of input release(is it equal to the point of the actual animation), players positioning towards the ball (face or back towards ball, etc) will affect the output of your input.
example: direct shooting on a lateral pass with decent input(aim correct but with power) Van Persie will keep it straight and low. While with the same input, John terry would probably kick it high(probably to high) and it would curle away from the goal
