Sadly it hasn't yet turned out what I hoped for it to be. What we need is to rebrand the whole thing, get a fresh start and have more people involved that can run the site, the forum and the tournaments aswell.
For example it would be great if there were more who were able to edit the ranking table and such things as I obviously don't have enough time to run it on my own.
I still believe in this idea and I think we should form a sort of discussion group that should work towards a new sort of opening of this place. I don't see any point in giving up just yet as we haven't given our everything to make it work.
We also need to have people who can run the thing on other consoles, PC and XB1 in the first hand.
Then we simply need to spread the word, we have to let people know about this place and make it easy for them to access aswell as navigate.
Like I said; I would say the solution is to form a discussion group and rework this whole thing for the future.

I'm glad you did reply quickly daadoo as it was my way in questioning your commitment . Obvioulsly you are still committed to your vision but have trouble with time restraints.I don't know your personal situation but yes we all need to discuss a way forward after this season... I think member communication on a regular basis discussing things and generally having a laugh is paramount in this forum continuing.... The PSN message service is not helping the situation and I have put forward a alternative which Edgar and I use which works A1.... I hope we can all start having some fun again !

the standings and results and all that could just be a google doc instead. we dont need it to look fancy.

also it would probably make sense to centralize all discussions into one section. the forum isnt popular enough to handle all of these different sections. just one section with all the threads should be fine.

Using a Google Doc format for a league table could speed up result logging, and take some pressure from the administrators. Also, leaguerepublic.net is a great facility. It generates a table automatically based on the results that one inputs, and certainly has a polished user-friendly layout.
As an aside, I could ask others to join the site. My PSN friends list has a list of about 30 people who I played against in other manual leagues as well as online friendlies on PS3. Most are decent, respectable players.

I hear what you're all saying and it's some great stuff. I certainly hope you do not give up on this community. I have a day off tomorrow (finally) so I will try to really sit down and commit to the community as good as I can then.

Alright, I still believe that we should put together a group of a few members to run the community together and discuss how we should rebrand the community.
If you are interested to be a part of it let me know in this thread, by a PM or at PSN. Otherwise I will contact some of you who I personally would like to be a part of this and ask you to do so.

I'm interested in helping out. Perhaps we should put together a communication channel for a core group?

That's a shame is this is to close always looked for an active manual community/site
I still have the domain from the manual site I had before and used league republic for tables etc as you could input them onto the site.

The problem that has always been with the manual community, and I say this as I've been part of many online leagues both manual and assisted, is that there doesn't seem any communication /banter between us.
We could all make it better by simply writing a match report on a game to see how it went. We could also get involve in topics and take a second to welcome new members on board. But we don't. No surprise leagues/sites don't last. Seems no one cares so after playing a season or two players start getting bored. Because who wants to play fifa on a set schedule, when we can get the same kind of satisfaction out of a ranked one.
I really had high hopes for the site, it is a shame we couldn't make a bigger effort to keep it alive.

I think the horrible PSN messaging system has also been an issue. I think a manual community like this is needed as finding a manual ranked match is basically impossible.
I think setting up a group chat on Telegram would be a good move. Open source software and also available on desktop.
Even if we don't have enough time/support for a league, we should still have a chat where we can meetup for matches. Perhaps we could have a tournament every now and then. Perhaps we should focus on building a manual community before getting ahead of ourselves and starting up leagues.
