PSN: FackmanSander As more and more interest come into play, then I assume more spaces will open up for an even bigger League? FAO Daadoo13 I've been thinking about the teams selection for this season. While it would be nice to all play with their preferred team, no matter what star level they are. I'm thinking this may not be the best idea. An example would be a 1.5-3 star team playing against a 4.5-5 star team. Sure they have to be able to actually shoot, pass and cross well as this is Manual. But the players strength, dribbling ability and pace would have a big impact on them type of games. I would propose that for the first season. People are required to pick a team of a certain star rating range. Like 0.5-2, 2.5-3.5 and 4-5? Just wouldn't be much fun for those with the lower star levels to constantly be dominated by the things Manual play can't control. |

I'm thinking that most people are going to pick 4.5-5 star teams for the first tournament, the 8 teams you choose are of your own choice so for the first season you should probably choose one of the better teams. There are more than enough teams for everyone to grab a good one. An example of picking teams for this season could look like this: 1. Real Madrid 2. Barcelona 3. Chelsea 4. Manchester City 5. Manchester United 6. Dortmund 7. Bayern Munich 8. Juventus And just like that you know that you will get a 5 star team. This is just to kick things off and then let the winner decide what kind of teams we'll use for next season, I'm looking forward to using "smaller" teams as I personally prefer it. I'm looking at why it's not possible to register at the moment and to restrict commenting to members only, this time it was useful that it worked to comment as a guest to enlight the error though. It is required that the participants are members on the forum for different purposes, as sending PM's and such. But of course CoryTheA and FackmanSander are first in line for the last spot of this season, I'll be back when I'm clear on this case. UPDATE: It is now possible to register on the forum again! |

If we are going to be going the 5 star teams route, which I personally would prefer 3 to 3.5 star teams, then hopefully we can play the games in slow speed. But then again it's just my humble opinion.

But then again it's just my humble opinion. I agree. I think to begin with we need to figure out the overall star rating people would like to play with and use that as the first season. I'll MSG each individual on the list and try and gather their opinion. I know we have the first 8 filled in, but as an example. Say we get interest to fill another 8 spots before the season officially begins. We would be able to run 2 pre-seasons. then the top 4 from each table would move up into what would then be classed as Div1, and the bottom 4 of each of table would then move into the Div2. Once we get enough player though, we could run the star ratings on the Division. So Div1, 4.5/5 star teams. Div 2, 3/4 star Teams and lastly would be Div3, 0.5/2.5 star teams This is just me thinking aloud, if we did get enough people then I would be surprised. |

I wouldn't say that we are going on a 5 star team route as I see it end after this opening tournament. I know that a lot of people prefer to use those teams, that's why I thought we should make the choice free in the first tournament. If this goes as I have planned then we'll use pretty much 75% of all teams in FIFA by the end of this FIFA-year. We can definitely change the game speed into slow though if the majority would like that. I like the idea of merging two pre-season divisions together into one for the top half and one for the bottom half from each. If we get enough participants, then why not? What I didn't like as much is star ratings bound to divisions. One would get tired of being in the same division using the same teams over and over again and never discovering anything. Let us know when you hear from everyone else about preferred teams for this tournament. |

I've thought about this and I do tend to agree. But maybe then we could rotate the star ratings per season? So no one Div' will have the same star team ratings the following season.
But it would also include the winners choices in what teams can be picked still. So it would be pretty varied.

Sorry to hear that eggster fella, switch to pro camera man, settings 13,20,10 and it's like playing a whole different game, a lot of fun attacking a kind a pain defending, but at least it becomes more fun especially full manual. Good luck mate.

Eggster mate, if sometimes you don't feel like playing randoms, just give us a shout if I'm online and we can play some games. Wouldn't mind even playing a co-op Season with you if you liked.
I'm happy that you haven't given up. FIFA can be a hard hitting game, lots of frustrating times and sometimes the overall experience isn't all that enjoyable. But stick to it, play people who share the same football interest as you and things will look up.

Alright, guys! We have our 8 participants confirmed for Season one and you are all now a part of Division one in the FMCL!
theeggster, I like that you changed your mind, keep the spirit up!
Have we reached a conclusion on what kind of teams we shall use? I still believe in choosing for free for the first season just to kick things off and let people enjoy the teams they like the most before we start to put up guide lines for which kind of teams that shall be used.

Well either way I don't mind. I just wouldn't want the other factors to ruin the experience for anyone. From the conversation though, it seems people are happy enough with 2.5/3.5 star teams?

Hey guys, good to see a manual site popping up. Huge props for your work so far on setting up the league, I especially like that you specify the tiebreaker rules right from the start.
Looks like I'm too late to join the league, maybe next 'season' there will be enough demand for two leagues. Good luck with season 1!
